FINANCING OF THE PND 2021-2025: 9,335.6 BILLION FCFA TO BE MOBILIZED, ACCORDING TO NIALE KABA

Abidjan, April 1, 2022 – The Minister of Planning and Development, Nialé Kaba, met, during a high-level dialogue, on Thursday, March 31, 2022 in Abidjan-Plateau, the development partners to discuss the mobilization funding for the operationalization of the National Development Plan (PND 2021-2025).

On this occasion, the Minister of Planning and Development indicated that for the public financing need of the PND 2021-2025, 5,413.4 billion FCFA are to be sought.

“The need for public financing of this third cycle of the PND is 9,335.6 billion FCFA, including 3,922.2 billion FCFA of financing acquired and 5,413.4 billion FCFA to be sought”, declared Nialé Kaba.

For the mobilization of the resources necessary for the financing of this PND, the Minister announced the organization of a Consultative Group (CG), on June 14 and 15, 2022 in Abidjan, with the support of all the development partners, in particular the World Bank, the European Union, the African Development Bank and the United Nations System.

According to her, the PND 2021-2025 aims for the necessary economic and social transformation which will make it possible to achieve the ten-year objective by 2030 which aims to raise Côte d'Ivoire to the rank of upper middle-income countries.

The Minister welcomed the revitalization of the framework for dialogue and the commitment of development partners to support Côte d'Ivoire in this structuring project in terms of organization, advice and mobilization of the private sector.

The PND 2021-2025 projects a growth rate of 7.65%. It requires an investment of 59,000 billion FCFA, 74% of which is financed by the private sector and 26% by the public sector.
